Nuclear
Cardiology
A nuclear medicine stress test gives your physician
information about blood flow to your heart. When arteries become narrowed
or blocked by fatty deposits, your heart may not receive the blood
it needs to function properly. The inadequate supply of blood to your
heart can lead to a myocardial infarction (heart attack). By determining
the blood flow to your heart at rest and at stress, your doctor can
provide proper treatment to help prevent this.
